Dr. Nicolas Schlapobersky is an award winning specialist physician in his own full-time private practice.
Dr. Nicolas Schlapobersky is a second generation South African, with his family having come from Lithuania in the 1920’s. He has lived in Canada for 12 years and completed a BSc at the University of Toronto in Botany and Zoology. His undergraduate Medical degree was completed at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1994, and he Specialized in Internal Medicine at the University of Cape Town, finishing in 2002. He won the Suzman Medal for the best candidate in the FCP(SA) at that time.
He then went on to work in New Zealand as a Consultant Physician for 1 year and then in the United Kingdom as a consultant, in General, Medicine for 2 years, before returning to South Africa to start private practice at Christiaan Barnard Hospital.
Qualitfications & Registrations
Dr. Schlapobersky is a member of the South Africa Medical Association (SAMA), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). He is registered as a Specialist Consultant Physician with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and his Practice Number is 0171352.
Dr. Schlapobersky continually keeps up to date with the latest medical information, through regular CME activities, and provides his patients with state of the art evidence-based medical practice.
